GP30

Built between 1961 and 1963, the GP30 design reflected the latest engineering of the early 1960s. It owes its distinctive “hump,” which spans the entire top of the locomotive, to General Motors’ automotive stylists. Among its design innovations, the GP30 could be equipped with dynamic braking and an airtight hood to protect the air intake of its electrical cooling system.
